The purpose of this article is to present an example of integrating the energy meter with the Grenton Smart Home System. The following integration is using the Modbus RTU communication protocol.
The energy meter used in this example is EASTRON SDM630-Modbus V2. Documentation of Modbus protocol is available here.
This integration allows us to receive the following informations:
- value of active and reactive power for individual phases;
- voltage and current values;
- frequency.
To complete the example you will need:
- Gate Modbus (with FW 1.4.1-2334 or higher)
- EASTRON SDM630 Modbus V2 energy meter
Configuration of the Modbus virtual objects
1. Add ModbusRTU virtual objects on Gate Modbus module:
2. Enter the values of Embedded features in ModbusRTU virtual objects as follows (according to the transmission parameters set in the energy meter):
* Phase L1 power:
* Phase L1 voltage:
* Phase L1 current:
* Total import:
* Frequency:
3. Send the configuration to the Gate Modbus module. After sending, the Value features of virtual objects should assume the appropriate values.
4. Reading register values in the myGrenton application:
